Properly Tagged - Accessible Documents, Done Right.

Who I am

Hi, I’m Andie.
I’m a document accessibility specialist, creative problem-solver, and passionate advocate for inclusive digital experiences.

I started Properly Tagged to help organizations of all sizes create clean, compliant, and screen-reader-friendly documents—from PDFs and Word files to complex workflows involving HTML and Acrobat. I bring structure and clarity to the details most people overlook.

What I Believe

Accessibility isn’t optional. It’s essential. Everyone deserves access to information—no matter how it’s delivered. But accessible documents aren’t just about compliance; they’re about communication, trust, and respect.

I believe in building content that works for everyone. That means semantic structure, smart tagging, readable layouts, and documents that pass both automated and human accessibility checks.

Why Work With Me?

  • Over 20 years of experience in content structure, design, and accessibility
  • Deep knowledge of WCAG, Section 508, and PDF/UA
  • Tools like Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, and HTML are second nature
  • You’ll work directly with me—no outsourcing, no fluff, just clear communication

What I Do (In Human Terms)

Here’s what I help clients with:

  • Making PDFs readable by screen readers
  • Tagging Word and PowerPoint files for accessibility
  • Cleaning up HTML-based documents for structure and export
  • Fixing reading order, alt text, tables, and links
  • Creating workflows and SOPs to make accessibility easier

Whether you’re a university, nonprofit, agency, or small business, I can help make your content compliant, inclusive, and beautifully functional.
